Doors that must withstand gusts of wind are certified with European standards EN 12211 & EN 12210. These standards guarantee that exterior doors are wind resistant.
When performing the tests, doors are subjected to increasing pressure on both sides to simulate gusts of wind.
The entire door assembly must remain in place and the fittings and other accessories must not show any play or come loose (glass, door closer, handle …).
Gusts of wind also include specific applications such as tunnel doors. After all, passing trucks, trains or metro trains also cause a very high and sudden air movement, which the doors must be able to withstand.
This property is often combined with air and water tightness. Together these characteristics are called LWW (air-water-wind).
ICOMET GROUP works with Heinen doors. Thanks to the sturdy Metal+ structure, Heinen doors can withstand high pressures and exceed European standards.
